Students from Heidelberg University Visit Dobroteka

Studenci z Uniwersytetu w Heidelbergu gośćmi Dobroteki

On March 26 this year, students from Heidelberg University visited Dobroteka.

Students of Economic Geography from Heidelberg University visit a chosen corner of the world every year. This year they chose Poland - they visited Gdańsk, Warsaw, Katowice, Krakow, Wrocław, and Dobrodzień was also on their itinerary. During meetings in Polish companies, as well as at the Ministry of Economy and the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the students wanted to gain an understanding of how Poland functions as a market and what its development opportunities are. This topic interests students primarily in the context of regions – how they develop and what possibilities they have.

In Dobrodzień, the guests sought answers to the question of what role people play in the furniture industry in a region where it is so highly concentrated. At Dobroteka, guests explored the facility and learned about its product offerings, and with equally great interest, they familiarized themselves with a presentation on Dobroteka's activities. Creative Director Jan Cegiełka spent over half an hour answering the guests' questions. The meeting with local historian, Mr. Paweł Mrozek, who presented and talked about the 200-year history of Dobrodzień's craftsmanship, proved to be extremely interesting for the students.
