Dobroteka Representatives in Kortrijk

Przedstawiciele Dobroteki w Kortrijk

Also in October, the traditional Biennale Interieur 2012 took place in Kortrijk, Belgium. This is an exhibition of interior design articles combined with a competition for "Space and Object".
The main prize for "Space" went to a Japanese-Swiss team, who proposed innovative solutions in the construction of the internal space of a house. The membrane, double walls of the building
constitute its storage space. In the "Object" category, the main prize was awarded to a Finnish proposal for a chair, surprising in its precision and simplicity.

The main exhibition areas were located in the EXPO trade fair center in Kortrijk. However, occasional exhibitions were also held in open studios and in the old city center, on Buda Island.
The Biennale strives to present innovative solutions in the field of interior design articles. This applies not only to furniture but also to flooring, walls, ceilings, etc. In addition to commercial exhibits, a large part of the exhibition was dedicated to studio - prototype solutions.
In the Ventura Interieur section, which is a platform for presenting innovative solutions, the Polish design group MALAFOR exhibited their seating.

"The exhibition in Kortrijk could be compared to the Satellite proposals at the iSaloni Fair in Milan, where a wider audience can get acquainted with what is being created in design studios and often remains in the prototype phase. However, such activities greatly broaden horizons when it comes to perceiving furnishing articles not as a chair, table or wardrobe, but as an autonomous artistic object" – Jan Cegiełka, Creative Director, Dobroteka.
