A good Designer's Week has come to an end
From September 1-8, 2014, Dobroteka hosted the "Good Designer Week" workshops. This was the third edition of the workshops, during which young designers had the opportunity to translate their design visions into market-ready furniture products.
The workshops began on Monday, September 1, with participants learning about the mutual capabilities of designers and manufacturers in creating new furniture products. On this day, design tasks were assigned, and implementation teams were formed, which this year collaborated with companies Kler, Halupczok, Jonczyk, Sit Sit, and the Novelle brand.
Tuesday, September 2, was dedicated to visits by workshop participants to the production plants involved in the project. Designers familiarized themselves with the production capabilities of the partner companies. Based on this, they began creating conceptual designs. They presented their ideas on Wednesday, September 3, during the Designer's Forum in the Dobroteka auditorium. The Designer's Forum also included young creators who were not workshop participants but had projects in their portfolios that they wanted to present to furniture manufacturers. This was also an opportunity to establish business contacts. On this day, there was also a finissage of the exhibition of furniture prototypes titled "Diploma by Commission." This was an opportunity to meet with designers who, this year, completed their diplomas at art universities in cooperation with Dobroteka.
Thursday and Friday were dedicated to designers collaborating with technologists on models of the ideas developed during the workshops.
On Monday, September 8, an exhibition opening was held at Dobroteka, where the materialized designs could be seen for the first time. The furniture created during the workshops serves as good promotion for both manufacturers and designers.
In the form of an exhibition accompanied by a catalog, they will traditionally be shown, among other places, at the Arena Design exhibition in Poznań next year. The exhibition can be viewed at Dobroteka until mid-October this year.
