Kler designer - Maria Warzecha

Projektantka Kler - Maria Warzecha

An interview with Maria Warzecha, a designer at Kler.

1. You design exclusive interiors. How did your journey begin?

I've always been interested in interior decoration, so studying at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts was a natural choice.

 2. What was your most prestigious project?

Each project is close to my heart, but one is particularly special to me. It's the adaptation of the former "Lwów" Cinema building in Wrocław into a modern Cultural Center. The project required a thorough examination of the building and adapting it to new functions through partial reconstruction and adjustment to new technical requirements. The main goal was to emphasize the historical value and modernist character of the building, finding a "golden mean" between perfect functional solutions and preserving the historic layouts and original substances in the designed interiors.

 3. What are your main sources of inspiration? Is there anything that particularly influences your designs?

Being in contact with art is a driving force for me. I love novelties from the world of fashion and design. I draw inspiration from the world around us – nature motifs, ornaments, and patterns are elements of my realizations. Knowledge of the history of architecture and art helps me in finding inspiration. I am fascinated by modernist architecture, timeless functionality, and minimalist forms of furniture that appeared during that period and are reflected in contemporary designs.

4. Trends versus timelessness – how to find harmony between them so that an interior is timeless?

I believe that there is no single interior scheme that will be "timeless" for everyone – because it means something completely different for each of us. Everything depends on character, temperament, and individual preferences. I design interiors that meet the client's expectations for their dream home, apartment, or flat.

5. How has the approach to design changed over the last 5 years? What do clients expect?

Client expectations vary greatly. There are those who already have a concrete vision but need visualization, corrections to make everything cohesive and organized. There are also those who have no idea for the interior – in this case, I often have a lot of freedom in creating the space.

6. Behind every project lies a different story. Do you remember a project that you are most fond of?

For several years, I have been working as an interior designer at Kler. Every day, I meet clients who want to change their interior. This involves hours of interesting conversations, searching for solutions that will meet the expectations of the household members. I treat every project as a priority. It is true, of course, that each one involves a different story – I love working with investors who are not afraid of unusual solutions, for whom furnishing an interior is a joy and an expression of their passions. For whom a home must have a heart and soul…

7. The room whose design brings you the most satisfaction is…

The living room and dining room! These are the places where we spend the most time, where the whole family gathers, and also where we host guests. I pay particular attention to the quality of furniture, accessories, and lighting, which will enchant the interior.

8. Why is it worth using the services of an interior designer?

Poles are eager to seek the help of an interior architect when designing their dream apartment. The art of decoration is more difficult than we previously assumed. The professional knowledge and experience of a designer will allow for budget estimation and fully utilize the potential of the interior. A designer will perfectly navigate new trends, select appropriate materials and colors, so that in the end, the interior is designed at the highest level.

9. How to prepare for the first meeting with a designer, what should you pay attention to?

It is best to bring technical documentation of the building or room and photos. Each meeting begins with a conversation that will tell us what the investor expects, what function the room is to fulfill, and what style the household members prefer. Of course, like any important matter, you need to prepare for such a meeting.
