The Chinese proverb says that "a book is like a garden you can carry in your pocket" – all lovers of literature know that this garden should be near the house. Moreover, it must find its proper place there. A home library will certainly be that place.

A good book will adorn the interior – all designers, stylists, and literature enthusiasts agree with this. Especially the latter cannot imagine a home without books. They treat them not only as decorative details but an essential element of everyday life. A home library is a special place. Here, we not only store our beloved collection but often immerse ourselves in reading, broadening horizons, chasing adventure, or dreams. Its decor must, therefore, correspond to our reading passions, creating a cozy relaxation zone.

You don't need much to arrange your dream place to store and read books. We can create a library zone anywhere in the house – in the bedroom, living room, or sometimes it can be, for example, part of a hallway. All you need is to make some space for a bookshelf, display cabinet, or shelves. These are traditional pieces of furniture that are still highly regarded. You can opt for conventional models, whose charm lies in the simplicity of design. Made of the best materials, they will delight the eye for years. However, shelves with unusual shapes will introduce an element of modernity and individuality into the interior. Models available on the market amaze with their elaborate form and unconventional materials from which they are made. Such shelves will not only accommodate our book collection but also become a real decoration of the interior, thus replacing other decorations.

However, if we are the happy owners of a separate room, let's consider built-in furniture along an entire wall. Shelves and bookcases filled with books, reaching up to the ceiling, will look extremely attractive. We can also be tempted to install a ladder on special rails, which will help us reach books placed on higher shelves. It will make us feel like we are in a real library in our own home. It is worth remembering that books should not be arranged by color or size. A dynamic composition, which will give a modern character, will work much better. Lovers of traditional arrangements will certainly appreciate glass display cases, behind which our book collection will be additionally protected from dirt and dust. This will facilitate cleaning and add prestige to the room. This decor should be complemented by a stylish chest of drawers, on which we will display family photos and souvenirs, and a large, massive desk for work.

A home library cannot do without a comfortable armchair with a footrest, a chaise lounge, or a sofa. The choice of model depends not only on the style of our interiors but largely on the size of the room or the place we have designated for the home library. We can place a small sofa or an armchair with a footrest here. If we decide on two armchairs, they should face each other. Light is another element of the decor that, in the case of a library, is one of the key determinants of the arrangement. We can choose, for example, a designer floor lamp that will illuminate the interior and be its true adornment. For reading, a warm light color is best because it does not strain the eyes but relaxes them. A home library must include warm and pleasant-to-the-touch blankets, a soft rug, or decorative pillows. They will provide a cozy atmosphere during moments spent with your favorite book.
