Project June 2019 Closing Event

The 1st FESTIVAL OF SCULPTURAL UTILITY FORMS is taking place from June 14 to 28. The “Nobler Form of Wood Processing” Sculpture Open-Air Workshop, organized for 5 years by Dobroteka, is organized this year
in partnership with the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

As every year, six artists – sculptors participating in the Open-Air Workshop – received massive poplar logs. Over several days, these logs will be transformed into unique sculptural utility forms. The entire process takes place in the garden area around the Tetmajer 83 gallery in Krakow (ul. Tetmajera 83), allowing the public, every day from 10:00 AM, a unique opportunity to observe the sculptors' work live. We host artists - sculptors, graduates and employees of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław: Karolina Gajda, Daria Kowalewska, Grzegorz Niemyjski, Dariusz Nowak, Marek Ruszkiewicz, Andrzej Kosowski. Unique handicrafts are created before the eyes of the public, including tables, chairs, deckchairs, armchairs, and shelves. The spectacular display, using, among other things, chainsaws, is guided by the overarching idea of form over function in the original objects. The result of the Open-Air Workshop will be a new collection that will expand Poland's unique collection of sculptural utility forms in Dobrodzień.

The Open-Air Workshop will conclude on June 28. On this day, at 11:00 AM, we invite you to the Tetmajer 83 Gallery in Krakow (ul. Tetmajera 83) for the vernissage of the exhibition of sculptural utility forms. On this day, in the garden space of the Tetmajer 83 Gallery, approximately thirty exhibits will be on display – selected objects from the Dobrodzień collection will stand alongside the newly created sculptural forms. The outdoor sculpture exhibition at the Sztuka Wnętrz Gallery in Krakow will be available throughout the summer
with the possibility of purchasing works for your home, terrace, or garden. On this day, architect Prof. Romuald Loegler, who designed the Tetmajer 83 Gallery in Krakow, will give an author's presentation of the object.
