REST Textile Studio is a design duo working in the field of textiles and design, created by Dominika Gacka and Julia Piekarska. The girls experiment with traditional weaving and innovative materials, using casein, hemp, wool, and thermoactive fibers. They create their projects manually on shaft looms, and then introduce them into everyday objects, prioritizing both visual and haptic experiences. At the Haptolaboratorium exhibition, you will be able to see several of the duo's projects, including their first joint one - Green Yarns Lab, a research project focused on textiles that stimulate the sense of touch, entirely dyed with plants. Also featured will be "Restki" (Remnants) - a new project that will allow for the creation of a closed-loop production system and the reuse of weaving remnants. In line with Rest's philosophy, we encourage you to touch all the fabrics and objects on display.
