Meeting for Architects

At the meeting for designers, which took place on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, Dobroteka was indicated as a designer-friendly place.

The meeting began with a lecture by Prof. Ewa Kuryłowicz, Ph.D. Arch., entitled "The Goal is the Mean. Kuryłowicz Associates from the Inside and Outside". The lecture presented a wide spectrum of activities of one of the most famous design offices in Poland. Numerous realizations of office buildings were shown, such as the Avon building, Focus Filtrowa, Wolf Nullo, Królewska, Nautilius, PLL LOT, Reprograf, Prosta Tower, as well as residential buildings: EKO PARK, Malina Mokotów, Okrag Wilanowska, Menolly Nowe Powiśle, Ostoja Wilanów in Warsaw, Symfonia Residence in Gdańsk, and private residential houses, including their own in Kazimierz Dolny. The presented objects showed innovative architectural solutions adapted to individual functions, client requirements, and implementation possibilities of the object. Many of these projects received numerous awards and distinctions in architectural competitions, due to the timeless values brought to Polish architecture.

At the meeting, the creators of Dobroteka were presented - M Point Design Office, its strategic partners - Philips, ABB, TFK Home Systems, and current co-hosts - Kler, Halupczok, Lissy, Vero, Meblonowak, Inne Meble, and Raffi. Spaces dedicated to designers were shown, along with their functions, equipment, and possible forms of cooperation with the interior design community were indicated. An innovative solution is the "designer's card", which allows customers using such services to receive discounts.

During the meeting, the closing of the exhibition Project Process Product, from the University of Arts in Poznań, took place, illustrating the successful cooperation of the university with furniture manufacturers. The successful implementations of young students, which have been put into production and are achieving market success, are a testament to this cooperation.

Finally, a special guest - a representative of the Italian company Riva 1920, among other things, spoke about the third life of wood, which the company gives through further processing of wood, thanks to which it gains a new function as furniture. For the first time in Poland, a piece of furniture made by Riva 1920 from Venetian piles pulled out of the lagoon, and designed by the renowned designer Claudio Bellini, was presented in Dobroteka. Also on display in Dobroteka is a rocking horse made of cedar wood by Riva 1920 and designed by Pininfarina studio, which has been cooperating with the company for years. Participants could also observe the process of recovering ancient kauri wood (40,000 years old) and re-processing it into a furniture product.

The entire event was musically enhanced by jazz guitarist Ryszard Styła.
