Silesian Thing - competition!

Call for entries for the Śląska Rzecz competition has opened

In an ever-changing reality, after the difficult experiences of the last two years, we have become convinced that the values guiding the organization of the Śląska Rzecz competition are still relevant! We appreciate locality combined with the courage to think outside the box and a readiness to respond to people's needs. We believe that smart and responsible design is necessary to improve the quality of life. But teamwork is important – for example, between designers and companies, institutions or third-sector organizations.

We hope that this year's edition of the competition will bring further good practices from the Silesian and Opole Voivodeships! We encourage you to submit projects by March 31, 2022. Please note! Submissions sent by March 18 – participation fee: PLN 200, from March 19 to March 31, 2021 – PLN 300. Application form: rejestracja.slaskarzecz.pl

Śląska Rzecz
is a competition recognizing high design quality as well as functional and innovative design solutions.

competition categories:
– product,
– applied graphics,
– service,
– exhibition design.

we invite to participate:
companies, designers, non-governmental organizations, public institutions

submitted projects:
must have been implemented in 2021 in the Silesian and/or Opole Voivodeships – with the exception of the exhibition design category.

we evaluate projects based on:
– innovation of solutions,
– sustainable development,
– consideration of user needs, including the elderly and disabled,
– design process,
– functionality and ergonomics,
– quality of workmanship and materials used,
– aesthetics.

deadline for applications:
by March 31, 2022

announcement of results and awards gala:
June 3, 2022, Cieszyn Castle

post-competition exhibition:
