"Common Parts" - opening of Marek Ruszkiewicz's exhibition

We invite you to Dobroteka for the vernissage of the exhibition "Common Parts", which will take place on February 7th at 1:30 PM.

For two months, the Dobroteka gallery will transform into a space of private mementos, memories, and experiences. The author of the sculptures and exhibited objects is Marek Ruszkiewicz, doctor of art and lecturer at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts in the Sculpture Department.

The presented forms are based on the idea of construction, deconstruction, and destruction, which poses the viewer with a question about the beginning and end of aesthetic processes.

Marek Ruszkiewicz - born in 1987 in Wrocław. Graduate and doctoral student of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. He has been working at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts since 2020 in the studio of Prof. Grzegorz Niemyjski. Author of several individual exhibitions and participant in dozens of collective exhibitions. His works are in private collections in Poland and abroad.

He carries out projects related to construction, deconstruction, and destruction, thereby drawing attention to the processes of passing. He is continuously interested in the perversity of destructive phenomena and at the same time the possible difficulties in perceiving them. He asks questions about the beginning and end of aesthetic processes. He claims that the essence of destruction in contemporary sculpture is to initiate favorable conditions for the creation of another sculptural situation. He divides the presentation of research results in the field of sculpture with solving the problems of sculpture in relation to function.
