14th edition of the Śląska Rzecz competition

The 14th edition of the Śląska Rzecz competition, organized by Cieszyn Castle, is launching. It is the only regional competition in Poland that recognizes high design quality and functional, innovative design solutions.
"Why design? Why participate in a competition at all? Because awards and nominations confirm the highest quality, and also certify care for people – viewers, customers, residents," said Ewa Gołębiowska, director of Cieszyn Castle, during last year's announcement. The competition is aimed at such companies, institutions, organizations, and designers who are "creators of a better everyday life" – as defined by Prof. Czesława Frejlich, chairwoman of the jury.
Awards can be sought in the following categories: product, utility graphics, including visual communication and multimedia, and service. The rule remains that all projects must have been implemented in 2018 in the Silesian and Opole Voivodeships. A new category is: exhibition design, which applies to designed spaces of both a business nature (exhibition stands, exhibition systems) and a non-commercial nature (exhibitions, thematic displays). In this category, the submitting entity must be headquartered in the aforementioned voivodeships, but the implementation is not geographically limited. Information, regulations, and the application form are available at: www.zamekcieszyn.pl
